So if I understand this correctly , with Kodi it will update itself with the latest version if you run the updater correct? If there is a update available...

NIce work on this Philippe :)
YES it's my target ... to don't have to redo works done by other (Kodi team itself) and to get update when they are available for Ubuntu 16.04 without extra works on it.

... I am a lazy

Philippe.
NB actually it's Beta delivery, but easy to return to nightly build or later to stable version ... (just add or change the PPA kodi team repository)
So I am trying to understand how the upgrade process would work with myHD. Would I just need to run: sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade? Is there another process that needs to take place?

Depends of how the software is created :
from a PPA or an Ubuntu repository (like kodi18, Chrome, etc.) ... it's apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade (better than upgrade to manage system depends)
... no sudo ... use myHD_root to be root
same is done using myHD apt_upgrade_package
Remember that some ad-dons (ex. kodi) require addition apt-get install kodi_xxx_addons

For software coming through AppImage ... this need a replacement of the AppImage

For software build from source (like P.M.P.) this require a new delivery (independent of myHD QPKG itself)

Upgraded to 0.2 and all is working well. You may want to update your download pages, they still point to 0.1 and do not have the patch. This may cause confusion with some folks.

Excellent work, thank you for all you do for the community!!

Hi,

ATTENTION

If you have downloaded 0.3.1 Sunday ... during three or four hours after announcement you can have a problem
due to a bad copy of a shell ...

This can have a real impact on NEW or FRESH install ... not really or in the future for users doing an update from 0.2

How-to identify the problem (2 possibilities) :
1) do a manual start or restart of myHD in a terminal
myHD restart (or start if stopped)
IF you see line in error for hds_key.sh with something like : {NS_HOST}_scripts/files/authorized_keys file not exist
... you have the problem ... if not ... good
2) verify hds_key.sh
cd $(getcfg myHD install_path -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf)/hds
and verify that ALL {NS_HOST} are prefixed with $ : ${NS_HOST} in line 9 to 12

How-to solve the problem (2 possibilities) :
1) edit hds_key.sh and add the missing $ before {NS_HOST}
2) download again 0.3.1 from my site (same URL)
... install as usual as any update
... if App. Center refuse (same version) copy the .qpkg file to /share/Public ; add exec bit and run it as a command
cd /share/Public
chmod +x myHD_0.3.1.qpkg
./myHD_0.3.1.qpkg

Sorry for the inconvenience ... I am in Travel at 1000 km of my labs ... and I'm clumsy
