myHD unable to restart after adding shared resource

Post by Hslansky » Fri Aug 31, 2018 1:34 am

My apologies if I am posting in the wrong place, please move as appropriate.

I have been testing myHD 0.1 and have been somewhat successful. It installed properly and both the Test and Kodi18 qpkgs installed properly and worked when I started them.

The problem is related to using shared resources. When i add a resource,
‘myHD add_include_folder /share/Public’
It seems to add successfully, however, doing a list_mounted_folder command does not show any entries. If I try to add the resource again I get an error that it already exists.

After adding the resource a “myHD restart” command fails with the following message:
Hum! Seems that myHQ is not started

Upon removing the resource the restart command works properly

Please let me know what additional information is needed to help debug this issue.

Thanks for testing ... you are the first ...
I will be in my labs in 2 or 3 hours ... BUT I presume that the error can come because I don't create correctly the receiving structure ... (/share/Public in the Ubuntu environment)

How to check :
Open a terminal under admin/your_password
(I consider that myHD is not up)
cd $(dirname $(getcfg myHD install_path -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf))
... this command return PATH of .qpkg folder (generally $(dirname $(getcfg myHD install_path -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf)))
cd ./.myHD/1604/share
... place where a /share/Public for ex. will be mounted
VERIFY if Public (take care to the P maJ.) folder exist ... if not create it : mkdir Public + chmod 777 Public (not sure it's 100% requested)

If myHD run ... just use myHD_root then cd /share and do the verification

Now you can add again /share/Public in include folder then restart myHD or start it if it is not started.

F.Y.I. : How to debug a fail start when nothing appear in the console ... JUST AFTER the fail (don't restart it yet)
do
cd $(getcfg myHD install_path -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf)
and
cat myHD.out (normal start = file empty)

Philippe.
Return result, I will change the shell to solve this

The patch you provided seems to have solved all of the problems. Restart works, the List_mounted_folders works, and the shares are properly visible in Kodi.

Thanks for the quick resolution. myHD so far seems to be an awesome piece of software. Please keep up the great work

Good to know ... it's good to have return on user experience ... except you I don't have any return for the moment ... or I am sure that other problems exist and can be solved (by me or by more expert than me)

I will integrate this (and some others modifications) in next beta 0.2 ... in one or two weeks.
